Bleeding Heart - Luxuriant
The Bleeding Heart Luxuriant, 'Dicentra ‘Luxuriant’, is a fast-growing perennial with pink, heart-shaped flowers. The blooms look wonderful against its grayish foliage. Dicentra ‘Luxuriant’ has a plant height of 12-15” and a width of 20”. Dicentra should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade. It is heat tolerant and needs moist soil. Do not let it dry out. Dicentra will bloom from May to September and is a major attractor to butterflies. ‘Luxuriant’ makes excellent cut flowers, in mass with groundcovers, or in potted containers. It has beautiful violet flowers on upright stems and has a longer blooming season than all other lavenders. Violet Intrigue blooms in mid summer and has a plant height of 24". It is extremely fragrant which is usually the reason that gardeners grow the flower. It makes a great short hedge or stand alone in any perennial garden. |
