Cuphea - Allyson
The Cuphea Allyson, 'Cuphea rosea', is a plant that is used in containers that has purple flowers and green foilage. Allyson can be used as a landscape or ornamental plant. They produce masses of purple flowers from spring through fall. Summers heat will not stop these unique flowers. In warm climates it is an ever blooming perennial. Place them in well drained soil and then look for Hummingbirds as they begin to flower. Pinching in early summer will promote branching. Daisy - Springstar Arctur The Daisy Springstar Arctur, 'Osteospermum ecklonis', was bred by Kientzler of Germany. The Springstar varieties are great for early cropping and all have a compact habit and are early flowering. The Springstar Arctur, a Proven Selections plant, produces beautiful dainty white flowers. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. Daisy's may be used as a cut flower and they are excellent in window boxes, pots, and rock gardens. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. These daisys are winter hardy to USDA Zones 10-11 and they are grown as an annual in other cooler climatic zones. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional bloom. |
