Daisy - Trade Winds™ Deep Purple

The Daisy Trade Winds™ Deep Purple (PP16,511), 'Osteospermum hybrid', has beautiful deep purple flowers. They’ll produce prolific flowers from spring right through fall. They’re heat-tolerant, so they won’t shy away from hot summer conditions and full sun. As a matter of fact, the Tradewinds™ series was bred for heat resistance and good growth habit. Daisy's require a sunny spot with fertile, well-drained soil and should be kept well watered in the summer. Daisy's may be used as a cut flower and they are excellent in window boxes, pots, and rock gardens. The daisy is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds, plus they are resistant to deer. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage additional blooming. In warmer zones this plant can also be a perennial. ... details

Herb - Fernleaf Dill The Fernleaf Dill, 'Anethum graveolens', Fernleaf or dwarf dill grows to 18" high and has dark green leaves. It is slow to bolt and is grown especially for its leaves rather than its seed. It is a unique dwarf that was developed for container culture. The dark, finely divided foliage on the basal-branching plant offers excellent flavor. Dill likes a well-drained, moderately rich, moist soil with a pH of 6. 0 in full sun. The primary use for Dill is culinary. Fresh Dill leaves are sprinkled on all sorts of food including potatoes, lamb chops, tomatoes, squash, salads, sauses, grilled salmon, eggs, spinach, cucumbers, and green beans. Dried Dill leaves, called dill weed, can also be used but the fresh leaves are much stronger and taste better. Dill is used extensively in Scandinavian and Russian cooking. Dill prefers fertile well drained soil with lots of organic matter.
