Dwarf Fleece Flower - Dimity

The Mountain Fleece Dimity, 'Persicaria affinis', a Blooms of Bressingham plant, is a wonderful variety in the Persicaria family. The superb green leaves turn red bronze in the fall and the pink flower spikes appear from summer into autumn. ‘Dimity’ has a plant height of 6” and a spread of 18-23”. The foliage forms a shiny carpet that should not be missed. ‘Dimity’ should be planted in a full sun area but can tolerate some afternoon shade. Sun will make the foliage look its best. It does need a well-drained area, making sure it is not over watered. ‘Dimity’ will look great in any perennial garden, in mixed container, woodland edge or near ponds and streams. ... more information

Ajuga - Metal. Crispa The Ajuga ‘Metal. Crispa’ has very tight, crisp-leafed crinkled purple foliage, almost prune-like, with a green-brown shine. ‘Metal. Crispa’ is excellent for shady moist areas but will adapt to a little more sun than most Ajuga. Metal. Crispas are best grown in a rocky area or with other smaller plants (so that it does not get overwhelmed), under trees or in poor soils. Crispa’ can be aggressive so don't place it near lawns without proper edging to prevent spread, or in borders where spreading is not desired. Butterflies and hummingbirds are defiantly attracted to Ajuga, not to mention being deer resistant and a low allergen. If one is looking for a perennial ground cover to exceed in a hard to grow shady area, Ajuga's are the way to go.
