Gaura - Siskiyou Pink

The Gaura 'Siskiyou Pink', Gaura lindheimeri, has numerous butterfly-shapes maroon flowers opening to reddish pink flowers that bloom from last spring to early summer. With a plant height of 24” and a width of 24-36”, it is definite addition to any perennial garden. ‘Siskiyou Pink’ Gaura requires full sun in a well-drained area with average to rich soil and is very drought tolerant. A major attraction to butterflies, it continues to bloom through the first hard frosts of autumn into winter. ‘Siskiyou Pink’ Gaura looks great on a rocky ledge, near bricks and stones, near Sedum 'Autumn Joy' or small dahlias. Hosta - Red October The Hosta Red October, Hosta 'Red October', is considered one of the best of the red stalked hosta's. What makes this hosta interesting is the stalks are almost red with the red fading into the leaf itself. The lavender flowers of this hosta appear on stems that are dark purplish red however, hosta’s are not known for their flowers. Hosta’s provide bright color in shade with wonderful foliage and Red October is no exception. Plant in any moist and well-drained spot. A great choice for any beginner gardener.
