Grass - Little Kitten Miscanthus
The Ornamental Grass 'Little Kitten', 'Miscanthus 'Little Kitten', is one ornamental grass that cannot be missed. Being similar to a cat’s tongue, this Miscanthus forms a foliage clump to only 15" tall. The pointed, narrow leaves are showy, with plumes of silver-white with pink and reddish tinges that appear in August. The plumes will last well into the winter and can be used as fresh or dried flower cuttings. 'Little Kitten' should be planted in full sun to part shade and prefers a moist soil area. Aster - Alma Potschke The Aster ‘Alma Potschke’, Aster novae-angliae, displays a beautiful bright neon rose pink daisy-like flower that are about quarter-sized. The flowers blooms in early fall to frost. ‘Alma Potschke’ is very attractive with a plant width of 34-40” and a height of 18-24”. It is a major attractor to butterflies and bees. ‘Alma Potschke’ is best planted in masses, borders and natural areas. It is also perfect for flowerbeds, shrub beds or colorful containers. Aster ‘Alma Potschke’ does require full sun, but can take some afternoon shade, in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer.
