Hydrangea - Compact PeeGee
Compact PeeGee Hydrangea, Hydrangea paniculata 'Compact', is a compact shrub that has large, white, cone-shaped flowers blooming in late summer that mature to a pinkish-bronze towards autumn. The compact size makes it a great choice for a foundation or border planting and is the most cold-hearty of all hydrangeas. PeeGees bloom from mid to late summer through early fall. Flowers start out white; as they age, they turn pink and then rust colored in the fall. Often the flowers are dried for beautiful indoor arrangements that can be enjoyed year round. This large shrub-tree form prefers full to partial sun. It reaches a height and spread of about 6 feet. Compact PeeGee is easily grown, and its lush deciduous leaves are best suited to loose, moist soil in the shade of tall trees or on the north side of the house. ... additional info
