Iris - Caesars Brother

The Iris ‘Caesar's Brother’, Iris siberica, has rich, deep intense blue flowers with slightly bluish-green leaves. Blooming from late spring into summer, it has a plant height of 36” and a spread of 18-24”. Iris ‘Caesar's Brother’ is one of the most easily grown Iris’. The Iris ‘Caesar’s Brother’ prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun, but will tolerate some afternoon shade. This Iris needs plenty of water throughout the season to continue to looks its best. Iris ‘Caesar’s Brother’ is useful in many ways. Best used around pools, ponds and water gardens, and for mass plantings. It can also be used in difficult banks and preventing erosion. Grass - Shenandoah Switch This one starts out red in June, by mid-summer it looks like Bloodgrass, and in fall, it is a rich burgundy. Given full sun and average soil, it is a slow grower. The foliage starts out as deep green but takes on the red color thru the summer. The 4' height, makes this a good choice for a specimen plant. It is one of the shortest Switch Grass varieties available. This plant will grow in dry to moist soils or well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of a neutral to slightly alkaline. It's attributes include naturalizing, attracting birds and suitable for cut and dried flowers.
