Iris - Champagne Elegance
The Iris Champagne Elegance, 'Iris', is part of the reblooming Bearded Iris family and has delicate shaded apricot flowers with 8-10 blooms per stem. With a velvety texture and beautiful evergreen foliage, it has a plant height of 34’ and a width of 18-24”. This Iris blooms heavily in early summer and then reblooms in late summer, ‘Champagne Elegance’ is an attractive backdrop for your garden. It is an easily grown Iris. Iris ‘Champagne Elegance’ prefers moist, well-drained soil in full sun, but will tolerate some afternoon shade. This Iris needs plenty of water throughout the season to continue to looks its best. Yarrow - Appleblossom The Yarrow ‘Appleblossom’ , 'Apfelblute' or Achillea millefolium, is an upright soft pink flower. ‘Appleblossom’ blends well with other perennial flowers that exhibit floral colors such as white, pink, lavender, blue, and purple. With the fern-like foliage, this Yarrow has an aromatic smell when crushed and makes excellent cut and dried arrangements. The flower heads are 2-3” wide, with a spread of 18-24” and a height of 24”. ‘Appleblossom’ Yarrow is excellent for mass planting in perennial borders, wild gardens or meadow gardens. It is inclined to spread, so site this carefully. This Yarrow can tolerate poor soil conditions, but does best in lean, dry to medium wet, well-drained soil. (Avoid heavy clays and moist, rich, fertile soils. ) Yarrow should be planted in full sun and is tolerant to hot humid summers. Remove faded flowers to encourage more growth and divide every 3-4 years. For an attraction to butterflies, deer and rabbit resistant, one can’t go wrong with this plant. |
