Golden Mockorange, Fragrant, Philadelphus coronarius 'Aureus', has single, white flowers that bloom among the gorgeous golden yellow leaves. This deciduous shrub's deliciously sweet white flowers delight the senses in late spring. The compact form creates an excellent accent plant in any landscape. Golden Mockorange is relatively free from disease and thrives in dry conditions. It grows to around 6 ft. tall, with a spread of 4-5 feet. The leaves emerge brilliant golden in the spring, fading to a pleasing lime-green by summer. It thrives best with light shade and moderate water. Mountain Laurel Its natural beauty in a woodland setting is a spring delight. It is the state flower of Connecticut and Pennsylvania. As a result of years of hybridizing and research there are over 80 known varieties. It grows upright and has beautiful tough glossy foliage. The plants will set buds as early as fall. The buds progress into dainty candy like flowers in the spring (May though July). This plant can withstand below zero temperatures and it is sun loving.
