Vinca - Little Bright Eyes
The Vinca Little Bright Eyes, 'Catharanthus roseus', flowers continuously for months no matter how hot its location. Little Bright Eyes are especially useful for the southern or desert climates or hard to maintain hot spots near a concrete or reflecting wall. It blooms best when other plants are hurting from the heat. The flowers are 1 to 1/2 inch phlox like blooms with a pink center. It begins to bloom when the plant is quite small and blooms until first fall frost. The Little Bright Eyes Vinca prefers full sun but will withstand light shade. Plant this Vinca in well drained soil and water regularly in sunny, hot locations. Plant in the spring after the last average frost date.
